At 11th Finchley Scouts, the safety and wellbeing of our young people is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all members can thrive and enjoy their Scouting experience.
Our Commitment
As part of The Scout Association, we adhere to nationally recognised standards and follow all guidance provided by UK Scouting headquarters. Our volunteer leaders are trained, vetted, and dedicated to upholding the values and principles of Scouting.
Key Policy Areas
Safeguarding
The protection of children and young people is paramount. All our leaders hold enhanced DBS checks and complete mandatory safeguarding training. We follow The Scout Association’s Yellow Card procedures and maintain a culture of vigilance and care.
Health and Safety
We conduct thorough risk assessments for all activities and events, ensuring appropriate safety measures are in place. Our leaders are trained in first aid and emergency procedures.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Scouting is open to all. We welcome young people and volunteers from all backgrounds and are committed to creating an environment free from discrimination, where everyone is valued and respected.
Data Protection
We handle all personal information in accordance with GDPR and The Scout Association’s data protection policies. Member data is stored securely and used only for Scouting purposes.
Behaviour and Discipline
We expect all members to follow the Scout Promise and Law. We maintain clear standards of behaviour and address any issues promptly and fairly.
Complaints Procedure
We take all concerns seriously. Parents, members, and volunteers can raise issues through our designated contacts, and all complaints are handled confidentially and appropriately.
Please note: Our full official policies and procedures documentation will be published on this page in due course. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns about our policies, please contact our Group Scout Leader or refer to The Scout Association’s national policies at scouts.org.uk.
